After a fall TV launch that was muted by 2023's double strike, EW is jumping back into what we do best this year with exclusive photos and interviews with juicy info on more than 75 shows. It all kicked off yesterday with our 2024 Fall TV Preview digital issue featuring NBC's  and continues through the next two weeks. I'm glad to celebrate all forms of pop culture in my current role, but as a former TV editor this issue is always going to feel most special to me. Congrats to our TV team for wading through the tidal wave that’s about to hit our DVRs (Do people still have DVRs? Just me?) to make sure you know what’s worth your time. —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-ChiefBrilliant MinDs

Parrish Lewis/PEACOCK

Inspired by a bonkers true story, this Peacock limited series stars Kevin Hart as Gordon "Chicken Man" Williams, an Atlanta bookie who throws an exclusive party after Muhammad Ali's 1970 comeback fight. When armed robbers ambush the guests — including crime bosses Frank Moten (Samuel L. Jackson) and Cadillac Richie (Terrence Howard) — a desperate Chicken Man turns to Detective JD Hudson (Don Cheadle) to clear his name. The eight-episode crime caper hits big with a star-studded cast (welcome back to series TV, Taraji P. Henson!), meticulous period wigs, and some hilarious odd-couple banter between Cheadle and Hart.  —Kristen Baldwin, TV Critic

Netflix

This Netflix survival competition series — which drops 16 people off in the Alaskan wilderness to last for as long as possible in freezing temperatures with no food and minimal supplies — does not boast as many outright villains in the new second season. But you will once again be shocked by the miseries people will endure to be the last team standing.  —Dalton Ross, Editorial Director

Film Movement

South Korea's Lee Chang-dong is one of cinema's great chroniclers of ennui and champions of the downtrodden. The inveterate distributor Film Movement now offers a first-of-its-kind box set that includes the director and screenwriter's opus, Poetry, and three of his early, soul-shaking staples. —Ryan Coleman, News Writer

Some of us thought we'd be stuck in the Afterlife's waiting room for decades before seeing a sequel to Beetlejuice. Luckily, it only took 36 years — and the wait was worth it. Director Tim Burton and his cast of familiar faces (including one stop-motion-animated Sandworm) recaptured their kooky, chaotic energy, and even threw in a new musical number powered by ghost possession for good measure.  —Nick Romano, Senior Editor
