Kesha updates 'TiK ToK' lyrics to 'F--- P. Diddy' during surprise Coachella duet with Reneé Rapp
Published on December 13, 2025 EDT Both singers defiantly raised their middle fingers when singing the new lyrics during Rapp's set at the music festival on Sunday.

The party at Coachella didn't start until Kesha walked in.

The singer wasn't on the lineup for the 2024 Indio, Calif., music festival, but she still stole the show when she appeared as a surprise guest during Reneé Rapp's set on Sunday and debuted timely updated lyrics to her 2010 hit song "TiK ToK."

After Rapp welcomed her to the stage by calling her the "hottest person on the earth," Kesha began singing the first line, "Wake up in the morning ... " But then she and Rapp held up their middle fingers as they revealed the new lyrics: "Like, f--- P. Diddy!"

The crowd gathered at the Outdoor Theatre stage cheered as they realized the powerful statement the two women were making in the wake of Sean "Diddy" Combs properties being raided as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation by federal authorities, as well as the numerous lawsuits and allegations against him of rape and other abuses.

After their defiant moment, Kesha and Rapp finished the duet and hugged before Kesha left the stage. Watch Entertainment Weekly's video of the performance below:

The original "TiK ToK" lyric are, "Wake up in the morning feeling like P. Diddy," and Combs replies: "Hey, what’s up girl?"

Kesha previously changed the lyrics in November during her Only Love tour stop in Los Angeles, Calif., to, "Wake up in the morning feeling just like me," one day after R&B singer Cassie Ventura settled a lawsuit against Combs alleging that he sexually assaulted her and subjected her to years of controlling behavior and physical abuse (he denied the allegations).

And last month, federal agents from the Department of Homeland Security raided two of Combs' properties in Los Angeles and Miami as part of an ongoing sex trafficking investigation. In a statement at the time, an attorney for Combs, Aaron Dyer, called the raids "a gross overuse of military-level force" and said his client "is innocent and will continue to fight every single day to clear his name."  Several more lawsuits have been filed against Combs alleging sexual assault. Combs denies the allegations.

Kesha taking a passionate stand against Combs is particularly compelling given her own history of sexual assault claims and nearly decade-long legal battle against her former producer and label owner Dr. Luke, a.k.a. Lukasz Gottwald. In 2014, she filed a lawsuit against Gottwald claiming that he drugged and raped her in 2005, as well as sexual, physical, and emotional abuse over 10 years, resulting in severe depression, post-traumatic stress, social isolation, and panic attacks. Her lawsuit was dismissed in 2016, and Gottwald filed a defamation countersuit against Kesha, which was settled out of court.

Earlier in the Coachella set, Rapp was introduced by the stars and creator of her "favorite TV show," The L Word.

Jennifer Beals, Kate Moennig, Leisha Hailey, and creator Ilene Chaiken appeared onstage and joked about how they had to say "what every lesbian wants to hear: Who's ready for a f---ing Reneé Rapp concert?!" Rapp then walked onstage and danced with them before launching into her powerhouse set full of hits and ballads.
