The Traitors producers say Johnny Bananas could be 'revived' in a future season
Published on December 13, 2025 EDT We may not have seen the last of "The Challenge" champ on Peacock's reality competition series.

Johnny "Bananas" Devenanzio may live to play again on The Traitors.

The Challenge's only seven-time winner didn't last long on Peacock's murderous reality competition series — he was the first one murdered in season 2 by Big Brother's Dan Gheesling and Real Housewives star Phaedra Parks — but producers tease that he could return in a future season.

"The beauty of the game is that anyone can go at any point, and we, as producers, don't have any hand in that, which is actually terrifying but sort of thrilling at the same time," executive producer Sam Rees-Jones said at the 2024 Television Critics Association Winter press tour on Wednesday. "So to have someone like Johnny Bananas gone in the first episode is a shock because we wanted to see what he would have done. As far as coming back, he was murdered, so...."

That's when executive producer Stephen Lambert jumped in to reveal, "He can be revived in another season. Who knows?"

That's music to Bananas' ears, as the reality star has been lamenting his early exit ever since the season premiered.

"If anybody was going to get another shot at this, it should be me based on the fact that I did not even have an opportunity to play," he previously told EW. "I didn't see the first banishment ceremony. I didn't even get to see the first breakfast. So hopefully if and when they do bring me back, whoever the Traitors are, if I'm not one of them, is somebody that puts strategy and winning ahead of personal animus."

The Traitors season 2 is currently releasing new episodes Thursdays, and The Traitors U.K. season 2 will begin streaming March 8, while The Traitors Australia season 2 and The Traitors New Zealand season 1 will begin streaming March 28, all on Peacock.
