Jimmy Kimmel says Donald Trump was 'spanked ... harder than Stormy did' by New York jury
Published on December 13, 2025 EDT Following the former president's 34-count fraud conviction on Thursday, the only thing Trump "is going to be fighting to win is the Jell-O cup on your prison cafeteria tray," Kimmel joked.

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel, of course, had a lot to say about former President Donald Trump's legal woes on Thursday night's Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Hours after Trump was found guilty on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records, Kimmel noted that Trump's son Eric had posted on social media that today might be remembered as the day Trump won the 2024 presidential election.

"Or," he cracked, "it'll be remembered as the day a jury in New York spanked your dad even harder than Stormy did with that Forbes magazine." (See the full monologue in the video below.)

Adult film Stormy Daniels testified this month that she spanked Trump with a magazine during a 2006 sexual encounter.

Kimmel showed news footage of Trump's comments to the media as he left the courtroom, saying that he was a victim of a "rigged trial." Trump insisted that he did nothing wrong and was a "very innocent man" fighting for the country. "And we'll keep fighting, we'll fight to the end, and we'll win," the politician said.

To that, Kimmel quipped, "And if we don't win, we'll say we won anyway. Listen, I have bad news: the only thing you're going to be fighting to win is the Jell-O cup on your prison cafeteria tray."

Trump is the first former president to be convicted of felony crimes and is scheduled to be sentenced July 11, though legal analysts expect that appeals could delay sentencing.

"You do have to hand it him, no president has ever been convicted more than Donald Trump," Kimmel said. "How long before he starts bragging about this?"

Another joke: "After seven long weeks, the courtroom is empty, and Donald Trump's diaper is full."

Kimmel said that his staff had to rewrite the entire monologue — "it was a mess" — because it had looked like the jury was about to be dismissed for the day when it was announced that there was a verdict.

Legal correspondent Jake Byrd reported from Trump-supporter protests in New York in a segment after the monologue. Byrd was caught in several mainstream news segments holding a sign that said "Free Father Theresa" after interrupting several interviews with Trump supporters and others.

"He's 'Father Theresa,' because he's not a girl," Byrd interjected cheekily. "It's called 'Manhattan,' not 'Lady-hattan."

Several other late-night shows, including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Daily Show did not air new episodes.

Daytime TV's The View announced Thursday that Whoopi Goldberg would make a rare Friday appearance on that show to discuss the news.
