Going down a social media rabbit hole can be a dangerous excursion. You start with a few funny videos and suddenly you’re rage-commenting on a cousin’s college roommate’s post about their local library. Luckily, there’s still one platform whose algorithm only fills me with joy: YouTube knows to give me random incredible (or incredibly bad) musical theater performances. If you ever need a palate cleanser, just search the title of your favorite song followed by either Nicole Scherzinger or Kelly Clarkson. I guarantee you one — or both of them — has covered it… and likely put the original to shame. —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

This criminally underrated Britcom about a group of minor offenders doing community service comes to a funny and heartfelt end (for now). After stumbling into a drug-dealing operation, the crew — including thrill-seeker Rani (Rhianne Barreto), milquetoast lawyer Greg (co-creator Stephen Merchant), reformed Angry White Guy John (Darren Boyd), activist Myrna (Clare Perkins), aspiring chef Ben (Gamba Cole), and bumbling supervisor Diane (Baby Reindeer’s Jessica Gunning) — race to put the cartel’s kingpin (Claes Bang) behind bars for good. Treat yourself to seasons 1 and 2 (featuring Christopher Walken as a charming con man) before joining the gang for one last caper. (Available on Prime Video) — Kristen Baldwin, TV Critic

Jane Schoenbrun’s sophomore feature — about two disenchanted teens seeking solace in a 1990s sci-fi show à la X-Files — has an appropriately staticky and sincere soundtrack. Compositions by Caroline Polachek and King Woman are as effervescent as the neon cinematography, making this horror film a sensory feast. —Allaire Nuss, Associate Editor

Netflix

Benedict Cumberbatch stars in this new Netflix series, which sees puppeteer Vincent (Cumberbatch) struggle with addiction (and reality) after his young son goes missing. He then begins to try and solve the mystery of his son’s disappearance with a little help from the life-size puppet he’s hallucinating. Totally normal stuff. —Samantha Highfill, Senior Editor

A mash-up of Agatha Christie and Love Island, One Perfect Couple is the ultimate gripping beach read. Psychological suspense master Ruth Ware returns with this tale of a couple, Lyla and Nico, who find themselves stranded on a deserted island with four other dating reality show couples — and what happens when someone starts to kill them off one by one. —Maureen Lee Lenker, Senior Writer

Daniel Prakopcy

Shaboozey continues to reign over 2024. The genre-melding singer-songwriter’s third album is bursting with his unique mix of country and hip-hop, including his chart-topping single "A Bar Song (Tipsy)" and soulful and sublime track "My Fault," featuring Noah Cyrus. —Alamin Yohannes, Social Media Director
