Hocus PocusWhere to see
Published on December 01, 2025 EDT

'Tis time to get your sandy claws on tickets for two of this year's hottest Halloween re-releases, as Disney is conjuring up movie magic by re-releasing Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas in theaters and on TV.

The studio announced earlier this year that Hocus Pocus — starring Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimy as Salem's evil, resurrected Sanderson Sisters witches — and Nightmare Before Christmas (Tim Burton's animated classic about the well-intentioned Jack Skellington bringing Christmas tidings to his Halloween-centric hometown) would return to theaters in the fall, marking yet another annual revival of two holiday staples.

As you settle into Spooky Season with copious scorpion pie and several chocolate-covered fingers of men named Clark, read on to find out where, when, and in which format (Nightmare offers a few different options!) you can head to theaters to see both classics on the big screen leading up to Halloween on Oct. 31.

Disney has already revealed that both films will return to theaters in October 2024, but on different dates. The Nightmare Before Christmas showtimes begin on Oct. 11, followed by Hocus Pocus returning to theaters one week later on Oct. 18.

Additionally, Hocus Pocus will have limited-run fan event screenings at the studio's El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, Calif. from Oct. 1-3, which will include a photo opportunity and displays featuring props from the original 1993 Kenny Ortega-directed movie.

A representative for Disney confirms to Entertainment Weekly that both films will play in more than 1,000 theaters around the United States. Most major chains will host screenings of the films, including AMC, Regal, Cinemark, and more.

No need for a calming circle; tickets for both Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas are already here to soothe your soul like a warm bowl of Sally's (Catherine O'Hara) Worm's Wort Soup.

Most theaters began ticket sales for the films on Tuesday, Oct. 1, ahead of both movies' planned re-release dates. Ticketing information for major chains (must enter local theater information for availability) can be found below:

In addition to theatrical releases, Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas will air as part of the Disney-owned Freeform channel's 31 Nights of Halloween programming block — which also includes the world broadcast premiere of the previously streaming-only sequel Hocus Pocus 2.

See when Hocus Pocus, Hocus Pocus 2, and The Nightmare Before Christmas air on TV throughout October below, in addition to their streaming availability on Disney+.
