Lamorne Morris shares his 4-year-old daughter's adorable attempt to hold his Emmy: 'I'm too little'

Lamorne Morris is sharing his Emmy win with his daughter — even though she needs a little help to hold up the award.

After taking home the prize for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the 76th Annual Emmy Awards ceremony, Morris made sure to share the weight of his win with his 4-year-old daughter, Lily. A Monday TikTok video sees the New Girl alum giving the Emmy statuette to Lily, who makes an adorable attempt to hold it on her own.

“It’s heavy,” she tells Morris in the clip, grasping the Emmy with both hands. Eventually, she calls it quits and hands it off to him, explaining, “I can’t hold it because I’m too little.”

For his performance in season 5 of Fargo, Morris took home his first-ever Emmy on Sunday, beating out fellow nominees Jonathan Bailey, Robert Downey Jr., Tom Goodman-Hill, Lewis Pullman and Treat Williams. While accepting the award, he gave a special shoutout to several loved ones, including his mother, who was in attendance.

"I want to thank God for allowing me to be here. I also want to thank God for my beautiful mother, who raised me,” he said, before joking, “She’s been my biggest champion ever since, you know- I came out of- I dropped out of her… her butt, whatever. I know where babies come from."

He then spoke directly to his daughter, teasing, "I love you. I told you I would do it, you always doubted me. I’m your hero.”

Lily has in fact been part of Morris’ awards season journey from the very beginning. When he learned of his nomination back in August, he shared a video of himself tearing up over the honor… while his daughter openly mocked him.

The TikTok video sees the pair sitting down at the table when Morris bursts into tears, apparently not for the first time.

“Daddy, are you crying again?” she asked.

Then, while Morris cried into his shirt, she turned to the camera, pointed at him, and laughed. He eventually resumed a phone call, telling the person on the line, “Oh, God. Lily's like, 'Are you crying, Daddy?'”

Turning to her, he confirmed: "Yes, baby. Daddy's crying."

Joking about the moment in the caption, Morris wrote, "When I got the call about the Emmy nomination, my daughter thought it would be great to make fun of me."

Following his Emmy win, Morris was celebrated by his former New Girl costars, who took to social media to profess their joy.

"Never a doubt in my mind," wrote Hannah Simone, who played Cece. "So proud of my former roommate and forever work brother."

Max Greenfield, who starred as Schmidt, reposted a clip of the win being announced with a crown emoji while Nasim Pedrad, Morris’ onscreen wife, wrote, “Heart bursting @lamorne.”

An Instagram post from Morris, showing off his statuette, also earned a comment from Zooey Deschanel, who wrote, “So proud of you!!!!” and Jake Johnson, who commented, "Deserved man. congrats."
