Deadpool 3 trailer breaks the Marvel multiverse with Wolverine at Super Bowl 2024
Published on April 20, 2026 EDT The film, officially titled "Deadpool & Wolverine," reunites Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman in their Marvel characters for the highly anticipated R-rated outing.

Marvel's best frenemies are back on screen together.

Hugh Jackman is back as Wolverine in the first Deadpool 3 trailer (above), which arrived on Super Bowl Sunday. Not only that, but the trailer confirms the film's official title is Deadpool & Wolverine, as well as how the R-rated Merc with a Mouth is infiltrating the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The footage sees members of the Time Variance Authority, the multiversal organization first introduced in Disney+ series Loki, track down and find Reynolds' Wade Wilson.

"Wade, you are special. This is your chance to be a hero among heroes," says Matthew Macfadyen's unnamed TVA character.

"I smell what you're stepping in, sensei," Wade responds. "You're little cinematic universe is about to change forever. I'm the messiah. I...am...Marvel Jesus."

This marks the ninth time Jackman has appeared as the character from Marvel Comics and the first since he apparently retired from the role with 2017's Logan.

It's also the first time Jackman's Wolverine shares the screen with Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool/Wade Wilson since 2009's X-Men Origins: Wolverine, a film the pair routinely poke fun at.

Shawn Levy — a mutual buddy of the two actors, who directed Reynolds in Free Guy and The Adam Project, and Jackman in Real Steel — directs Deadpool 3, which is coming to theaters later this year on July 26.

Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige appeared to subtly signal the arrival of the first trailer when he arrived at the Saturn Awards earlier in the week to accept an honor given to Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3. He was seen wearing a black baseball cap with a circular logo that was half Deadpool, half Wolverine.

Deadpool 3 will also feature The Crown's Emma Corrin and Succession's Matthew Macfadyen, as well as Deadpool and Deadpool 2 veterans Rob Delaney (Sugar Bear), Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), and Stefan Kapicic (Colossus).

Various reports and leaks have also suggested a slew of high-profile cameos and supporting roles, but Levy and the actors are trying their best to keep the surprises a secret — which is difficult, considering one of the main characters is often referred to as the Merc With a Mouth.
