Published on March 04, 2026 EDT When asked at the SAG Awards about recently playing a grown-up Cameron, the "Succession" actor seemingly did not recall the four-year-old project.

Alan Ruck has apparently forgotten a key line of succession for his Ferris Bueller's Day Off movie character.

Speaking to EW's Gerrad Hall on the red carpet at Saturday's 2024 SAG Awards, the Succession actor paused when asked about playing a grown-up version of his character, Cameron, from the 1986 teen comedy classic in a 2020 commercial for LiftMaster.

"The ad you recently did reprising your Ferris Bueller character, [was there] a big veil of secrecy over that?" asked Hall, as Ruck looked on in silence, while his wife, actress Mireille Enos, looked equally confused as she shook her head back and forth.

Hall attempted to jog Ruck's memory by asking him what it was like to "reconnect with that character," but the actor remained silent, took a deep breath, and answered.

"Uh, no," the 67-year-old said. "Maybe somebody owes me some money, but, I don't know."

The topic then shifted to a planned spin-off that's set to follow the pair of joy-riding valets first seen opposite Ruck and Matthew Broderick in Ferris Bueller. "They're going to do a movie about the two garage attendants," Ruck offered. "I know as much as you do."
