Breaking BadWatch Bob Odenkirk apologize for saying the F-word during his

Bob Odenkirk is feeling very saul-y for dropping the F-bomb during the Breaking Bad reunion at the 2024 SAG Awards last weekend.

The Better Call Saul star publicly apologized for his foul language at the ceremony while visiting Jimmy Kimmel Live on Wednesday by sitting underneath a single “apology” spotlight and reading a speech he’d written on a folded piece of paper.

“Hello, America. The other night at the SAG Awards, as part of a great reunion of the Breaking Bad cast, I, Bob Odenkirk, besmirched the evening’s abundant pleasantries by saying ‘the F,’” Odenkirk recited as sad music played behind him. “I implore your ears to forget what they heard my mouth say, and I only hope that no other person ever again utters that word ever. Don’t go down the dark road I’ve gone down.”

He continued, “Finally, I hope that this apology, spoken live on television, gives me complete immunity from any and all crimes from here forward. And I thank the Supreme Court. You guys are awesome. It’s impossible to do the work of being a celebrity without total immunity, you understand?”

When host Jimmy Kimmel chimed in to agree that it was difficult to be a celebrity without total immunity these days, Odenkirk added, “I can’t do anything! You have to be able to break the law to do your job!”

Odenkirk reunited with this Breaking Bad costars Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, Anna Gunn, Dean Norris, RJ Mitte, Betsy Brandt, and Jonathan Banks last weekend to present this year's SAG award for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series to the cast of Succession. But before the big reveal, he pretended to stage a mutiny against the so-called cheesy script the entire cast had to read that required them to spell out what each letter of the word ensemble represented.

Gunn kicked off the segment by revealing that E stands for the “excellence that each cast member brings to every exciting episode,” and, well, it’s safe to say Odenkirk wasn’t having it as he declared that the N stands for "No. No f---ing way I'm doing this cheesy thing where you say each letter of the word. I'm not doing it."

"No, Bob's right," Mitte replied. "My grandma wouldn't even put this on a pillow, it's so cheesy.”

Watch Odenkirk apologize for cursing — and pay tribute to the late Richard Lewis — in the clip above.
