Dancing With the Stars recap: Things get sexual on the dance floor on Soul Train Night
Published on December 01, 2025 EDT

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Dancing With the Stars season 33, episode 3, "Soul Train Night."

Beep beep! All aboard the soul train. The Dancing With the Stars soul train that is.

In the first of a special two-night show, stars performed to a soulful array of songs inspired by the hit TV show Soul Train. Monday's episode, which was pre-recorded last week, started off with an action packed routine from the pros and a quick explainer of the history behind the iconic show. Actress Rosie Perez, who got her start on Soul Train in the 1980s, joined the judges panel ready to put her R&B and hip-hop dance expertise to good use.

Among the highlights of the night, Oscar-nominated actor Eric Roberts dedicated his romantic foxtrot to his wife of 32 years, Eliza Roberts. He gushed about her love of DWTS and brought her into the dance itself with a dip and a kiss at the end of the routine. While awaiting their scores, his pro partner Britt revealed that Eric gave her some marriage advice that was NSFD (Not Safe for Disney).

Speaking of Not Safe for Disney, the pair that has polarized the DWTS fandom, model Brooks Nader and pro partner Gleb, danced a sensual rumba to "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye. The (possibly real?) couple's dance made Derek Hough exclaim, "That dance made me pregnant," to which Bruno Tonioli quickly confirmed that he is not the father. Despite the steam, their scores were on the lower side, ending up with a 28. In an intriguing turn of events, Bachelorette star Jenn Tran and pro Sasha threw their own hat in the ring for Best Showmance, as Bruno remarked that their Viennese waltz was possibly the sexiest he'd ever seen.

Former NBA star Dwight Howard had the charisma to win over the judges and viewers in past weeks, but tonight that just wasn't enough. Howard and pro Daniella admitted in their package that due to travel they didn't have much time to practice their routine this week, and when it came time to perform, it showed. Howard danced with little attention to the footwork, but lots of attention to facial expressions and his wig, and the judges took note (with Carrie Ann getting booed by the crowd), giving them a 23 out of 40.

The surprise superstar of the season, Bachelor star Joey Graziadei, showed off his back flip and his musicality with his lively jive to "Shout," which earned him the first 9s of the season. "Your sex appeal is off the charts!" Perez said. The couple ended up in the second spot on the leaderboard, just trailing behind frontrunner Chandler Kinney, who placed first for the third week in a row with four 9s.

And guess who's back, back again? It's the DWTS Live Tour! Emma Slater, Alan Bersten, Brandon Armstrong, Britt Stewart, Daniella Karagach, Gleb Savchenko, Pasha Pashkov, and Rylee Arnold will hit the road starting in January, performing routines from returning choreographer Mandy Moore and alongside some top secret celebrity guest stars.
