Melrose Place star Thomas Calabro regrets missing series' 2012 EW reunion: 'I'm not into looking back that much'

Melrose Place actor Thomas Calabro says no to "pretty much all" interviews about the show that he starred on for all of its seven seasons, from 1992 to 1999.

"I'm not into looking back that much, you know what I mean? I'm kinda done," he explained to former costars Laura Leighton, Courtney Thorne-Smith, and Daphne Zuniga on Sunday's episode of their rewatch podcast, Still the Place.

And yet. He still regrets not catching up with the cast of the Beverly Hills, 90210 spinoff at a 2012 EW reunion, which the hosts were sure to ask him about.

For the record, the cover captures nine of the show's stars — Doug Savant, Josie Bissett, Marcia Cross, Heather Locklear, Andrew Shue, Grant Show, as well as podcast hosts Leighton, Thorne-Smith, and Zuniga — looking chic and much more chill than when their address was the drama-filled Melrose Place apartments.

"Okay. I'll tell you why I didn't do it," Calabro said on the podcast. "Because I didn't think about seeing all you guys together and having that kind of fun. That would have made it attractive to me."

The actor, who portrayed the villainous Dr. Michael Mancini on all seven seasons of the Aaron Spelling-produced drama, which aired from 1992 to 1999, appeared in it more than anyone else. He even reprised his part for the 2009-2010 sequel.

Calabro might not have known the fun that he was missing on that 2012 photo shoot, except his former cast mates gave him a call afterward, as they went to dinner together. That's when he first realized that he'd made a mistake.

"I should've gone," Calabro remembered telling his wife. "What am I doing?"

There's always next time, because interest in Melrose Place isn't going anywhere. As Entertainment Weekly reported in April, a reboot is in the works.
