Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves reacts to Makensy's shocking finale decision (exclusive)

Each week, Big Brother host Julie Chen Moonves has been weighing in on the latest events inside the house. This week, she reacts to the events of the finale, including Chelsie’s big win, Makensy’s big decision to not bring Cam to the end, Tucker being named America’s Favorite Houseguest, and the return of Jankie.

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: Let’s start with the winner. How would you sum up Chelsie’s game this season, ending in a unanimous jury vote?

JULIE CHEN MOONVES: It was almost flawless. She had friends, loyalty, skills, and smarts. When the chips were down, and she was blindsided by Cedric’s eviction and then she lost Brooklyn… she reconfigured her game and found how to make it through with only one fellow Pentagon member left in the house. She deserved the 7-0 unanimous win! (And I’m not just saying that cause I’m her “Auntie!”)

If Makensy picks Cam to go to the end, she wins $750,000. She told you after that she was doing well and was okay with the decision. Do you believe that?

Yes, I do. Of course, she’s replaying why she didn’t get any votes to win, and I think that may be the hardest part for her. That said, she seemed prepared to possibly lose the game in order to stay true to who she is as a person and keep her integrity intact. I’m proud of her.

What does it say that someone that has been off the show for six weeks in Tucker just went and won America’s Favorite Houseguest?

It shows the Tucker was a unique and unforgettable force. His unconventional gameplay combined with his unbelievable skills that saved him from his own bold, risky moves has cemented his place in BB history.

Tell us what it was like being on that stage with the entire cast reunited at the end. Did you pick up any interesting tidbits or interactions?

I thought Makensy was the consummate professional — keeping a classy, grounded humbleness about herself while she must have been replaying in her mind if she did the right thing. It spoke volumes that she was able to celebrate the end of the season with others and Chelsie’s win, and not act like a sore loser. Finally, might we be seeing Jankie on season 27?

When he finally stops singing that dang Jankie song, I’ll ask him!
