Family FeudKamala Harris faces off against Donald Trump in

With less than a month to go before the U.S. presidential election, Saturday Night Live is putting democracy into the hands of... Steve Harvey?

The show's Oct. 12  episode kicked off with a political cold open that pitted Team Harris against Team Trump — but instead of a mock debate, the nominees faced off in a fierce game of Family Feud. On one side, the Democrats included Kamala Harris (played by Maya Rudolph), Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff (Andy Samberg), governor and VP candidate Tim Walz (Jim Gaffigan), and President Joe Biden (Dana Carvey).

During her intro, Rudolph's Harris boasted about raising a billion dollars for her campaign, to which Kenan Thompson's Harvey responded, "How are you not winning by a landslide?"

With a painful laugh, Rudolph replied, "That's a question I scream into my pillow every morning."

Meanwhile the Republicans, led by James Austin Johnson as Donald Trump, were down one teammate.

"Let's move over to President Trump's lovely wife, Melania," Thompson's Harvey said, looking to an empty space. "Oh! She ain't here."

Replied Johnson's Trump, "It's so strange. I could have sworn she was standing right beside me two years ago." Without his wife, Trump was joined by Sen. JD Vance (Bowen Yang) and Donald Trump Jr. (Mikey Day).

From there, Thompson's Harvey did his best to moderate as the opposing sides offered answers for the first survey: "Name something you keep in your glove compartment."

Rudolph as Harris rang in first, offering a long-winded response about being "raised in a middle-class family." When Harvey pressed her for an answer, she finally delivered: "Oh, a Glock, Steve. A big ol' Glock," she said, a reference to Harris' recent 60 Minutes interview with Bill Whitaker.

Emhoff took a page out of his wife's book, simply repeating her entry. "A second gun" turned out to be the No. 1 answer.

The rest of the Democrats were far less successful: Gaffigan's Walz provided a list of possibilities — including napkins, Tums, and Hothands — none of which were on the board.

Next, Carvey's President Biden confidently requested, "I'd like to buy a vowel." After being informed that Family Feud is not Wheel of Fortune, Biden mistakenly referred to Harvey as "Conan" and threatened to give him a "knuckle sandwich."

The game went over so poorly that Harvey gave up on the Democrats and allowed the Republicans to steal. Vance and Trump Jr. swiftly revealed that they were "told not to speak," so the answer went to Johnson's Trump, who delivered a nonsensical rant about Seinfeld, immigrants, and mom jeans.

After Trump finally finished, Thompson's Harvey took it to the board: "Show me dementia!"

Needless to say, Team Harris won by default. Watch the full SNL sketch above.
