Pedro Pascal admits he's 'a lil drunk' in SAG Awards win: 'This is wrong for a number of reasons'

Pedro Pascal had a little too much fun at the SAG Awards on Saturday.

In something of a surprise win, he took home the prize for Best Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for The Last of Us, after previous awards season outings had seen him lose similar honors to Succession star Kieran Culkin.

Pascal himself certainly seemed surprised, hilariously joking on stage, "This is wrong for a number of reasons," before admitting that he was "a lil drunk."

"I thought I could get drunk. Thank you, HBO," he said. "Jeez Louise, I'm making a fool of myself, but thank you so much for this." Noting that he's been a SAG member since 1999, Pascal quipped, "This is an incredible f---ing honor," and added, "This is on Netflix," referring to his being able to swear in his speech.

Pascal was so flummoxed that he apparently forgot his fellow nominees, saying, "To all the nominees, I can't remember your names right now." (Fellow nominee Matthew Macfadyen could be seen laughing in the audience as he said this). Pascal then thanked series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann and HBO for "giving me a job, because I grew up watching your network."

He finished up his speech by telling the audience he was "gonna have a panic attack," and "then I'm gonna leave."

For the record, Pascal beat out Succession stars Culkin, Macfadyen, and Brian Cox, and The Morning Show's Billy Crudup.

Backstage with Tan France, Pascal said he didn't recall what he said in his speech because he "was very surprised." Regarding his humorous awards season back-and-forth with Culkin, which started when Culkin told Pascal to "suck it" on stage after his Golden Globes win, Pascal said he was "going to make out with Kieran" at the after-party.

The win marks Pascal's first at the SAG Awards, which streamed live on Netflix from the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
