Judge Steve Harvey, Amazon's new animated
Published on December 01, 2025 EDT

This past weekend I hosted my dad and stepmom in from Texas. They're Turner Classic Movies superfans, so I took them on the TCM version of the Warner Bros. studio tour. Seeing their faces light up when our fabulous tour guide, Rebeka, pointed out a backlot street filled with homes that Jimmy Stewart characters lived in over his decades filming on the lot was like watching a kid experience Disneyland — but I was happily surprised to realize this jaded entertainment journalist was just as thrilled stepping into Hollywood history. If you're in L.A., do yourself a favor and find your way to Burbank and Rebeka. —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

This comedic court show (season 2 on ABC/Hulu now) is the most feel-good reality series around. "This is where common sense presides," Harvey's intro intones — and the 67-year-old comedian issues plenty of it from the bench. ("Boy, I can't believe you ain't slapped yourself yet," he scolds a 23-year-old defendant who owes his mama car payments.) Whether adjudicating a dispute between neighbors or a wife suing her husband for lack of intimacy, Judge Harvey rules with a firm, funny hand, suffering fools just long enough to teach them the error of their ways. —Kristen Baldwin, TV Critic

Playing like a welcomed extension of the beloved Emmy-winning Batman: The Animated Series of the '90s, this Prime Video show is a noir-inspired tale of the Dark Knight (voiced by Hamish Linklater), with Catwoman (Christina Ricci) and a female Penguin (Minnie Driver). —Patrick Gomez, Editor-in-Chief

In her first lead film role (opposite a fantastic Dan Stevens), Euphoria sensation Hunter Schafer carries Neon's madcap horror-thriller as Gretchen, a reluctant teen who moves with her dad and his new family to a remote resort in the German Alps where all is not as it seems. —Mike Miller, Executive Editor

The latest sci-fi epic from the authors behind the Expanse series (Daniel Abraham and Ty Franck, using pen name James S. A. Corey) shows the seeds of rebellion beginning to sprout after a planetary invasion forces the humans who were spared into proving their worth to stay alive. This novel is definitely worth it. —Dalton Ross, Editorial Director

Freaky Friday turns 21 this week, making it the perfect time to revisit the endearing Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan-led mother-daughter body swap comedy on Disney+. A highly anticipated sequel is in the works with many returning faves, including Chad Michael Murray's Britney-loving Jake — and his motorcycle, which is notably not a Ducati. —Jessica Wang, Staff Writer
