Modern Family cast reunites to present at SAG Awards and proves they've still got it
Published on March 04, 2026 EDT "Is it too early to talk about a reboot? They made me park a mile away from here," quipped Jesse Tyler Ferguson onstage.

It was truly family to the end at Saturday's SAG Awards.

Modern Family cast members Ed O'Neill, Julie Bowen, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Eric Stonestreet reunited and it felt oh so good. The group gathered to present the award for Best Ensemble in a Comedy Series to the stars of The Bear.

"250 episodes, it never happens!" said Bowen, talking about their show's long run.

"Happened twice to me," retorted O'Neill, who previously enjoyed success on the Fox sitcom Married... with Children.

The gags flew thick and fast from that point on with Vergara's namecheck of her new Netflix show Griselda prompting Stonestreet to ask that Ferguson, "Pay up, I told you she'd mention it in the first 10 seconds."

"Is it too early to talk about a reboot? They made me park a mile away from here," Ferguson subsequently pondered.

"What about your big Broadway career Jesse?" asked Bowen. "You always said you wanted to return to your roots in the theater."

"That's just something actors without hit shows say, okay?" he replied.

"I know Travis Kelce!" declared Stonestreet, who has appeared on the football star's podcast. "I could Facetime him right now, I'm being serious. So things are really great for me," he added with faux sadness.

The Modern Family get-together wasn't the only major reunion of a group of beloved cast members on Saturday. Devil Wears Prada stars Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, and Oppenheimer nominee Emily Blunt also hit the SAG Awards stage together, as did the reunited cast of Breaking Bad, and The Lord of the Rings duo Elijah Wood and Sean Astin.

Idris Elba kicked off the starry ceremony, which, in addition to honoring the year's best performances in film and television, also saw Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper presenting Barbra Streisand with the SAG Life Achievement Award.

The Modern Family gang had much success at the annual awards show during its 11-season run, ultimately winning five SAG honors – four for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and one for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Comedy Series (for Burrell).
