An awkward new emotion has officially arrived in the new teaser trailer for Pixar's Inside Out 2.

The clip opens with Riley, the original protagonist of the 2015 film, celebrating her 13th birthday, and her transition from childhood into adolescence is causing a serious shake-up at Headquarters. Shortly after, her emotions — Joy (Amy Poehler), Fear (Tony Hale), Envy (Liza Lapira), Anger (Lewis Black), and Sadness (Phyllis Smith) — wake up in the middle of the night to discover a demolition crew is ransacking their building and installing a new, orange-tinted console.

"Orange?" Joy asks. "Who made the console orange?"

As the others shuffle out of the way, a gangly, striped, turtleneck-sporting orange emotion is revealed.

"Hello!" the character, voiced by Stranger Things' Maya Hawke, replies. "Oh my gosh, I'm Anxiety. Where can I put my stuff?"

And don't let Fear take over your own control panel, but it sounds like Anxiety is just one of many new emotions Riley and her other feelings will encounter throughout the upcoming sequel.

"I'm sorry, we wanted to make such a good first impression!" Anxiety frets, prompting Disgust to flatly reply, "What do you mean we?"

Director Kelsey Mann explained that Anxiety "might be new to the crew, but she's not really the type to take a back seat" in a press release for the film. He continued, "That makes a lot of sense if you think about it in terms of what goes on inside all our minds."

Alongside Anxiety, a few other new voices pop up in the trailer, as Hale and Lapira replace original Inside Out stars Bill Hader (as Fear) and Mindy Kaling (as Disgust).

Inside Out 2 lands in theaters summer 2024. Watch the trailer above.
