Janet Jackson wants the world to stop asking her questions: 'I don't mean to be rude'
Published on April 20, 2026 EDT The "Rhythm Nation" singer prefers performing over interviews.

Janet Jackson has been in the spotlight since she was a little girl, even acting on her family's variety show and TV series Good Times before she was a teenager. Being in the spotlight, unfortunately for her, meant doing interviews.

In an, ahem, conversation this week on the radio program Heart Evenings with Dev Griffin, the star agreed to play a game where the host asks guests what they would like people to stop asking them about.

Jackson's answer (in the video) was both simple and exceedingly polite: "And I don't mean to be rude, but I have to be honest with you. Please stop asking me questions."

As in, the singer of iconic songs "Love Will Never Do Without You" and "Again" would rather fast-forward through the entire process of promoting her music by talking.

"I've never thought I give a good interview," she said. "I really don't like speaking, so I'd rather stay quiet and listen to other people talk, and that's always been me."

She added, "Don't ask me questions," Jackson said with a smile before teasing, "Are we finished?"

It continues stateside through the end of the month, in cities such as Orlando, Atlanta, and Phoenix, before she takes it to Europe. Her last show is scheduled to be Oct. 13 in Glasgow, Scotland.
