American Horror StorySarah Paulson reveals 'big chance' she'll return to

American Horror Story staple Sarah Paulson struck fear into the hearts of fans with her three-year absence from the beloved show, but the star has revealed that there's a strong likelihood she'll return to Ryan Murphy's FX anthology series in the near future.

Paulson appeared Thursday on Good Morning America to promote her new Hulu horror film, Hold Your Breath, and anchor Robin Roberts asked her if she'd work with Murphy on AHS again after recently joining the ensemble cast of his upcoming legal drama All's Fair.

"I think there is a big chance that I will return to American Horror Story," the 49-year-old actress replied. "I've got everything crossed. I would like to do it more than anything. It's my home. It's where I started."

She continued, "I got to play, you know, seven different characters in seven years, which as an actor is the most exciting, thrilling thing, and also allows an audience to be ready for anything you're going to do because they're not attached to one thing that you do, specifically. That has given me a lot of career flexibility. "

Paulson also cited some fond memories of working with fellow AHS actor Evan Peters as a major reason for her desire to work on it once again.

"Also, just my favorite people," she said. "If I could be reunited with Evan Peters and Ryan Murphy, you can tell me what time to be there, and I'll be there."

Though she'd worked steadily before joining AHS' first season in a supporting role in 2011, the series took her career to a new level, as she returned in major, fan-favorite leading roles in subsequent seasons Asylum, Coven, Hotel, and more.

Paulson's last appearance on AHS was in 2021, when she starred in both halves of the two-part Double Feature edition. She sat out 2022's NYC and this year's Delicate.

But Paulson has worked with Murphy on multiple other projects, including her Emmy-winning turn as Marcia Clark on The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, as Geraldine Page in the first season of Feud, and as Mildred Ratched in the one-off Netflix thriller Ratched.
